Bosnia & Herzegovina: Magic of Mostar & Majesty of Kravice falls

In the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the Neretva flows, lies Mostar, a quaint village woven with the threads of history. Its cobbled streets whisper tales of Ottoman influence, where the graceful arches of the old bridge stand as a testament to resilience and unity. Here, artisans craft handmade treasures, echoing the traditions of generations, while the vibrant colors of the tropical landscape embrace the town’s spirit. At Kravice Falls, surrounded by the brilliant hues of autumn, nature’s cascade harmonizes with the laughter of the inclusive people, celebrating a tapestry of cultures that flourish side by side. Mostar, a mosaic of beauty, beckons with the promise of connection amidst its enchanting scenery.

Itinerary:

Rick Steves is correct that, if you’re short on time, the two essential places to visit in Bosnia & Herzegovina are the enchanting town of Mostar and a side trip to Kravice Falls.

Both these places can be done as a day trip from Split or Dubrovnik in Croatia or can be planned whilst visiting the country of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

We booked the tour with Rock Tours in Dubrovnik. The tour is around 12 hours with enough time in Mostar and Kravice falls.

Photographers, here’s a tip: visit Kravice Falls in the morning and explore Mostar in the afternoon. This timing ensures optimal sunlight for stunning photos, while the reverse may not yield the best results.

Here are some beautiful sights from Mostar and Kravice falls.
